Ramset General Powder Actuated Tools (PAT)
General Powder Actuated Tools (PAT) are indirect acting type tools
that use specially manufactured powder loads. When the tool is in
position to drive a fastener, pulling the trigger releases a firing
pin, which strikes the powder load. This causes the powder in this
load to ignite and burn, providing a powerful release of expanding
gases which drives the piston down the barrel of the tool, striking
the fastener. The resulting impact drives the fastener into the
concrete or steel work surface. After each shot is fired, the piston
is manually reset by slinging or pulling the barrel assembly forward.
This action resets the piston, preparing the tool for the next fastening.
