Ramset General Powder Actuated Tools (PAT)
General Powder Actuated Tools (PAT) are indirect acting type tools that use specially manufactured powder loads. When the tool is in position to drive a fastener, pulling the trigger releases a firing pin, which strikes the powder load. This causes the powder in this load to ignite and burn, providing a powerful release of expanding gases which drives the piston down the barrel of the tool, striking the fastener. The resulting impact drives the fastener into the concrete or steel work surface. After each shot is fired, the piston is manually reset by slinging or pulling the barrel assembly forward. This action resets the piston, preparing the tool for the next fastening.

Automatic Reset
The AutoFast tool operates on the same principle as a typical powder actuated tool. The main difference (and the biggest advantage) is that when the tool is lifted from the work surface after firing, it automatically resets the piston with a unique heavy-duty piston return spring. This feature eliminates the need for the operator to reset the piston each time the tool is fired which amounts to a 33% time savings over general powder actuated tools.

Combustion Engine
TrakFast is the most revolutionary fastening system in the construction industry. As the Trakfast tool is depressed, the rechargeable battery turns on the fan motor. A precise amount of fuel is injected into the combustion chamber. When the trigger is pulled, a spark creates an explosion that drives the piston into the fastener, and the fastener into the work surface. This action creates a vacuum that pulls the piston back to the start position. All this happens in less than one second.
